Synopsis:
Two men are fleeing through a dense forest. They split up and one men pulls out his
cellphone and makes a call but when he burst out of the dense forest into a
riverbank heavily armed men surround him and open fire. In a last effort the man
throws the cellphone into the river. On the other end of the line Carolina hangs up
and throws the cellphone away. She pulls out another one and gives someone the
order to proceed with their plans. We meet a young screenwriter struggling with a
writers block. He receives a mysterious letter about a device that has the possibility
to control your mind. Sceptcally he throws the letter away but after having eaten his
dinner he becomes the victim of the device and enters the story of Carolina.
Carolina is on her way to her work when she hits a stranger who suddenly crossed
the road. Feeling responsible she takes him with her. His name is Marc and he seems
paranoid about the police and the military and he says people are looking for him.
They try to shake their invisible pursuers and hide in a motel. After a short and
intimate stay in their room, several black vans park in front of the motel and nearly
every room is being search. After a lucky escape Carolina stops by at a pump and
meets Kris, an agent searching for Marc. She finds out Marc is a secret agent and is
taken to a safe place by Kris hidden inside a mountain. Inside the mountain she
seems to have fallen into a trap. The owner of the facility, Mr. Alderson needed her
genes for an experiment and not having any other choice she approves to cooperate.
When she wakes up again she’s lead to her new room and makes a little stop at her
vehicle to get her belongings, including a pair of booth with knifes in it that
graciously cuts of the head of one of her guard and ends in the others’ heart. She
places a bomb in the heart of the undergound structure and hurries out shooting
everybody in her way except for one girl. Alderson has already made his way to his
chopper when he found out who Carlina was but they meet again in the chopper and
shortly after it crashes into the side of the mountain Carolina watches the whole
mountain blow up from her parachute. Resting in a restaurant she meets up with
Marc who was her partner in this mision and also a lot more than just that. But when
they’re talking about a trcik they want to pull on the organization who hired them for
this job, they get caught by Kris another agent with a double agenda. As captives
they enter the facility of the organization and are put in a heavily protected room
with a whole unit of heavily armed guards. In the meanwhile Morris, the owner of
the facility and Jenkins, his superior are discussing their identity. The captured
assasins appear to be an experiment of their own organization having returned to
take their revenge. But right under their noses the both assasins escape leaving
twelve dead bodies behind inside the room. Morris panics and shoots Jenkins, the
next moment Marc stands in front of him, two army knifes slide up over his legs and
Carolina smiles from beneath him. His helping hand Michigan comes in and shows
Morris his real allegence was never with him. Morris leads them to the vault under
the facility and Carolina and Michigan open a secret door within the vault leading to
their real target: the HAARP, a device designe for worldwide mind control. They
upload a hack into the system and leave. When Marc and Carolina are back up on
the surface Kris appears holding a gun. Michigan is just in time to save them but
gets shot instead. Before he dies he gives Marc and Carolina a remote control and
Carolina removes Kris of his balls. Driving away they press the button and the facility
blows up. Making a stop to transfer some stolen gold into a trucker they’re been
ambushed by Jenkins and a team of snipers. Only every sniper is laying dead in the
bushes except for the girl Carolina let live back in Aldersons’ facility: Anastasia, her
genetic sister. That’s where the screenwriters’ newest script ends, his life is as good
as lost but Carolina and Marc set up a trap for a visiting agent with good connections
in the motion picture industry.

After the funeral his wife, Kate, goes home with her best friend Jessica and her daughter Judy. Just before entering the house she thinks she hears her husband. She’s not sure whether it was real or not, but she knows his sudden has changed her life forever. Jessica and Judy try their very best to be there for her and slowly talk her into picking up her life again. When she’s slowly coming back to herself she suddenly sees a dead girl sitting on her bed. She tells her friend that she has started seeing things and her friend proposes to provoke these visions in the believe they’re not real. When they turn out the light they hear someone in the house. Jessica decides to follow the sound to find out who it is and leaves Kate behind. Kate is scared and starts to turn on all the lights when a face appears from a shadow and tells her to leave the dead alone. The face tells her that her husband is not with them anymore to scare her off, but she doesn’t want to believe it. The moment Jessica and Judy come in the face disappears but Judy has seen it. Jessica notices a mark on Kate's arm, recognizes it and leaves without a word. While Kate is torn away by what she has been told, Judy goes to school and meets a dead girl, Chhaya, when she sits down in the park to catch her breath. Jessica leaves to face her worst nightmare, her own daughter who started suffering from paranoia and psychosis at a very young age. Entering the sanatorium she finds an old friend sitting beside her daughters’ bed and she realizes someone had known her darkest secret all along. In the meanwhile Chhaya tells Judy that Kate is not her real mother but she is. She tells her that the dead are coming to take her away because she has seen her and so she has come to take her first because she doesn’t want to lose her again. When Judy comes home she knows she’s going to die either way and stumbles to her room, silently saying goodbye to the world. When Kate realizes something is wrong, she is already gone. Kate’s mad at the dead for taking away her daughter and provokes them. Then her daughter appears telling her to run away before the dead take her. Kate is stunned seeing her own daughter burning away, like a vampire in the light. But then she has to struggle with everything the dead told her and her desperate wish to find the truth behind all the lies. Just when Jessica arrives, Kate has decided to cut her wrists.
